Dr. Lohstroh's Medical School Friend Says Lohstroh May
Have Foreseen His Murder |
|
Dear Glenn,
I wasn't able to
speak to you on the air in entirety tonight but what I was
trying say was that there are a lot of people afraid for their
lives. People don't realize Rick's tragedy is not unique. He and
I went to medical school together. Since we met, our lives have
been parallel.
Since our divorces, we have lived in fear of
our ex-wives' unpredictable behavior. Rick was so depressed
after he was accused of molesting his son. At the time, no one,
including CPS and police, seemed to be in a hurry to get to the
truth. Instead, time passed on. He couldn't see his kids. He
lived in a filthy bleak little apartment with little or no money
to support himself for months .No one even would talk to him
about why they were keeping his children from him.
I'm not sure if you can imagine the
persecution you feel being a law biding physician and father all
your life and suddenly have people who don't even know you treat
you in this manner. Just the accusation itself makes people
wonder "Is their doctor a pervert?" Rick, as you said on the air,
would rather have been raped. Meanwhile, his wife's boyfriend
was residing in his new home being called dad.
Rick and I had often talked about getting
killed by our ex-wives. I used to tell him if they could get
away with it they would. Unfortunately, I guess the gag order
prevents me from saying anything more. I have been amazed by the
publicity. I'm not sure he would have wanted to be remembered in
this way despite the good intentions people have. I have not
spoken to Dr. Sommer and I do not know her personal experience
with parental alienation syndrome.
I will tell you that CPS, the police and the
court all played a role not just his ex-wife. That is what
angers me. He was my best friend but he was also good doctor
that had so much still to pass on to society and his children.
That is what should anger everyone else.
Sincerely,
Sumit Guha, M.D.
